If you don't have a good camera, find a good environment
If you don't have a good model, find a good idea
If you don't have a good idea, find a good camera
If you don't have any, keep the pic for you.
This, sums up my mind about artistic nude in general, and artistic nude on DeviantArt in particular.
I am not saying you should not learn, practice and expose your work to critics. That's the only way I know to really gather experience.
But.
There are limits to things you should show.
An erect penis can be art. I deeply believe so as much as I believe everything can be art when shown under a certain light, from a certain angle, with a certain intention.
An erect penis shot with a cellphone over a kitchen background is not art. It's not even bad pornography. It's just a useless picture. Incidentally, a useless penis picture is best kept for private use.
I am sometimes saddened by the photos I see under the 'artistic nude' category. I am sad because naively stamping your breasts on a picture and believing that the artistic value will emerge as a kind of intrinsic quality exhales a sort of candid pathos, having something to do with longings for acknowledgement.
To those who expose such pictures, and because I am nobody to judge, I would just enjoin you to learn photography, and turn flesh into curves, light and expression. Look around, compare, see what you can achieve.
To those who feel completely in their right to publish their useless penis pics: may your hands be forever covered in chilli powder if it can prevent you from manipulating a camera.
